The ESEE-5 is a big fixed blade that's tough, durable and practical. It is designed by military SERE instructors as a downed pilot's survival knife. This knife has a big drop point blade that is coated black to protect the 1095 carbon steel. Carbon steel has great hardness, but it doesn't have great corrosion resistance. It's very important to use rust inhibitors to protect the blade. The handles have Micarta scales that are durable and water resistant. The knife also features spine jimping, full tang construction, lanyard hole and a glass breaker. The knife comes with a Kydex sheath, clip plate, paracord lanyard and cord lock.
